Who Can Host?

Find out more about who can host with Wiltshire Host Families.

Who We're Looking For

As long as our hosting standards are met, anyone can host with Wiltshire Host Families. We want to give the groups a diverse range of experiences which they can then share with their friends and teachers.

Our hosts come from a range of different backgrounds and include:

  • Families with or without children at home
  • Couples
  • Singletons
  • Empty nesters
  • Retirees

Many of our hosts work full or part-time, and as hosting is short-term and flexible, they find it fits well around their work and life commitments.

What We're Looking For

Take 2-4 Students

You must be able to take a minimum of 2 students (max 4) in a separate bedroom to your family members.

Provide Real Beds

Students must stay in proper beds, such as single beds, trundles and bunk beds. We do not allow airbeds and mattresses on the floor.

Clean & Tidy Home

Your house should be clean and tidy. We don't expect showroom or hotel standards - just a good level of cleanliness.

Drop Off & Pick Up

You must be able to drop off and pick up your students before 7:40am and after 6:30pm each day of their trip.

Friendly & Welcoming

We look for hosts who can provide a warm, friendly and welcoming experience to our student and teacher groups.

Pass a DBS Check

We require all hosts to pass a DBS check and safeguarding course.

Host Family Stories

Hear first-hand from our hosts about why they joined WHF and their experiences of hosting.
